stagnant.

That's what my blog, and also my life, has been lately. And both is probably 'coz I'm so freaking good at procrastinating! I always put off what I should be doing, so I decided to try working harder this year and to do things which actually matter.

I haven't smoked for 11 days!!! Yup, ever since the start of 2008!! So proud of myself, but have a feeling I'm gonna cave in sooner or later, what with all these smoking friends around me.. Ok, proper updates!!

Youth In the Spirit Seminar(061207-091207)

Angele encouraged me to join and even though I've been to many church retreats, I must say that this was the best one so far. Probably 'coz I was 16 and below during the past few camps and didn't really understand much. I guess it's time to make more space for God in my life now.

And they had this giant bonfire on the first night, it was so cool!!!!! I think it was the first time I was at a campfire and they asked some Scouts to come help light it up..

Our first real trip together!!! Genting doesn't count 'coz we didn't take a plane! We were so psyched about it and I can't believe it's over already. Why does time pass so fast?!! Keke, shall let the pictures do the talking.. Since a picture is a thousand words and I have like a thousand pics!!! So.. You do the maths..

It sucked by the way. By our 3rd stick we decided to just give up and buy Thailand cigarettes instead.

Their airport was SO much nicer than I expected/remembered. Seems more developed now.. But it was kinda empty.. Till we got to the checkpoint.. After that waited around for our bus to pick us up.

There were around 20 people in the bus and 3 hotels to drop them off at.The couple in front of us were irritatingly noisy but I thought maybe they were just excited or something. However, on our way back to the airport they were still sitting with us (unfortunately) and they were still annoying. We took like one hour plus to reach our 'hotel'. By that time it was only us left in the bus so obviously our hotel wasn't really a popular choice. The bus stopped a five mins walk away from the hotel and when we got out, all of us were super stunned. It was a dark alley and we didn't even know where to walk. Luckily, the bus driver must have sensed our apprehension and showed us the way.

Ok, when I saw the hotel, it was another shocker. It was actually more like a motel or to be exact, inn. It was called Pratunam City Inn and it looked like Hotel 81.. but worse. There were only 6 storeys and the room was kinda small but by the 2nd day we more or less got used to it and were quite contented lah. So we just unpacked our luggage and went to scout the streets for food!! It was dinner by then anyway.

No. Not the bear. Nothing beats A&W's root beer float and curly fries!! And it was so cheap! But after that we decided to eat more 'quality' food for the next few meals.

Walked around the night market, shopped for afew hours and bought nearly half of thailand on our first night there. Lolz, are we power or what? Although the place was near our inn, we were shagged from all the haggling and walking and carrying of bags so we decided to take a tuk-tuk back, thinking it'd be cheaper than a cab.

Well, it cost us S$1 each which is EXPENSIVE by Thailand's standards!! First ride and we got cheated! Some more they thought the driver was nice and friendly 'coz he had a dog in the tuk-tuk(they just had to choose that one. So cramped already still have to accomodate a dog. I sat as far as possible from the mangy creature.) and he talked to us alot but turned out he was just pervertic!!! If you look at the pics below, he was so totally groping poor ShiWan who was the first to take the pic. Angele and Jas used the stinky dog to create a distance between them and since I wasn't excited about the idea of holding a dog, I just tried to stand as far as possible.

After that horrible experience, we went back to bath and then chilled in our room. First tried to play mini mahjong, but realised it's freaking hard to hold mj tiles the size of our nails. So we just took a pic and switched to bridge!!! Jace, don't you wish you were there? Lolz.

2nd day, the shopping begins!!!

Isn't their MacDonald cute?? Anyway, they had banana chocolate pie there and it was nice!! Why Singapore don't have?!!

And why sg no pink cabs also??? Though it would be a bad thing coz then I'd just be more tempted to cab everywhere.

We went to a chinese restaurant for lunch. The food was nice and CHEAP so I was kinda too busy eating to take photos.. Hehe.. I only took one of the first dish and (in my opinion) also the best one!!

Then we took the mrt just for the sake of trying it out, but surprisingly the mrt there costs more than a cab/tuk-tuk!! Taking the MRT one stop cost 15baht each while taking a cab ride for around 15mins only cost 100 baht!!(which is like S$4.50??!) Probably coz of all the jams.. But I felt so heart pain when I came back to sg and paid $17 for a freaking ride to TOWN!! Damn sad can.. Coz of the peak period 35% surcharge.. Now I really think twice when I wanna take cab. Sad.

Other than the farecard, everything else was around the same as sg's mrt.. More modern than I thought it'd be. Went to the higher end shopping centre, Siam Paragon, which is exactly like our Paragon. The stuff there were like Mango, Zara, Dior, Gucci, etc.. Price also around the same as sg. BUT!! We managed to find a shop having warehouse sale and went mad there!! I spent the most there, bought alot of things including a Billabong bareback top which costs like S$8 and a Billabong white denim skirt which costs only around S$15!!! After that the S$400 I changed was nearly gone so over the days I kept changing money till I realised I spent around S$1k there not including the tour package which costs $320!! Heart pain but it was worth it considering the stuff I bought there.. Though it was mostly office wear 'coz I don't really own much of that.

I guess we went at a good time 'coz all the Christmas decorations were up. By the way, if you look at the above pic carefully you'll realise the part where the yellow light is shining is actually a picture of a guy. That's their king. And seriously, I tell you, they are super patriotic!! Earlier on in the day we went to watch [National Treasure 2] (which was not bad), and before the movie started everyone in the cinema had to stand up and listen to what was probably their national anthem while watching pictures of the king flash on the screen!! LOLZ. If we had to do that in sg I'll probably just go late for all the shows. Not that I don't already. =x

Girls with shopping bags are always happy!

We saw this poor lil elephant being dragged around by some evil Thai guys. They were selling bananas to passerbys to feed the elephant. We saw the poor baby crying as we walked past.. I dunno why, but it just seems more sad to see animals cry rather than humans. Anyway, I kept thinking of the bottoms peeps 'coz they keep calling me elephant and there are elephants EVERYWHERE in Thailand!!

After we were done shopping we went back to our hotel room.. And when the 4 of us are overseas together.. We definitely must go clubbing!!! Jas and Shiwan checked out all the places even before we went so we decided to go to Bed Supper Club.

So, we took a cab there and all the way the cab driver was blah-ing about nicer and cheaper places. I actually almost fell for it 'coz I didn't wanna spend too much money on clubbing but luckily SW was experienced and told us not to listen to the cabbies. Anyway, no regrets. Coz the place was nicer than Zouk!!

We opened a bottle of Chivas at around S$30 each so it was reasonable lah. At least we has a table, although we shared it with an ang moh and a negro. They were quite friendly and took photos for us. Lolz.

We actually also went clubbing on that day to coincide with Angele's birthday and since it was her birthday, the other 3 of us weren't gonna let her go home sober!! We made her 'da' 22 secs of Chivas. Muahahaha..

We finished the drinks like in half an hour and the guy beside us was quite impressed. Lolz. After finishing our drinks we went to the R&B room which was much more fun! But seriously, I think we were like the most happening people there. The Thai people just sit or stand around and don't really dance and the ang mohs were not bad but I still think we were better! Haha. We even climbed onto the platform to dance.. Unfortunately, most of the clubbing photos are with Angele and she hasn't sent me the pix yet so ya..

After that we all went back, half-drunk(Jas and me) and totally drunk(Angele and SW), in a TUK TUK. Lolz. It would have been cool if we all started puking onto the roads. Or not.

3rd day, to Chatuchak for more shopping!!

Unfortunately, when we reached there it was so hot and crowded that SW fell sick and started puking. So we just walked around like 3 shops and then ate and went back to the hotel.

Back at the hotel, we rested a while, looked at the many stuff we bought at those 3 shops and then went nearby for a massage. It cost like S$5 but it wasn't as good as the one I did in Batam where you could hear all your bones crack. Lolz.

Then we went back to Siam Paragon coz I wanted to check out the sale again. Had a super filling dinner at Sizzler's for like S$10. CHEAP!

While walking, we came across the pet section where there is seriously more than anything a pet ever needs.

It's madness. But kinda made me wish I owned a pet. Better yet, made me wish I were a pet! With the right owner, you can be treated like a king!! Preferably the owner being someone not like me.

After that, we rushed back to the hotel before midnight to give Angele her birthday surprise.

The best part is, we had been looking up and down for the beer opener coz the hotel staff(who were all super friendly) told us it was in the toilet. None of us could find it.

It was right in front of our eyes all along!! Like seriously. We are blind. Chatted for abit then went to bed.

4th day, the REAL shopping begins!!

This was the day we spent the most money. This was also the day I spent 7 hours non-stop shopping, only stopping to eat! Having experienced the heat the day before, we went to 7-11 to prepare ourself with 1l bottles of mineral water. I think it's amazing that 7-11 is everywhere around the world!

I know he just looks like some bangla here, but he is really adorable!! He is like gay personified!! Lolz. He was super bouncy and helpful lah.

These are courtesy of Jas, Angele and SW. One hour of my life wasted ooh-ing and ahh-ing over these pets. I don't hate them, I'm just.. immune to their cuteness. I mean, cute is cute. The first few that I saw I was kinda interested and all, but for goodness' sake down the stretch there were so many and all of them looked alike!!! They really just stopped at every single cage to look at the animals and *shudder* touch them. I have to make it clear that I didn't touch a single of those dirty creatures. By the way, they are for sale. Yes, they sell almost anything in Chatuchak, including snakes, squirrels, used shoes and other stuff I can't remember.

Jas and me are officially the undisputed shopping queens!! Around 4 plus, Angele and SW were too tired and sat down somewhere to rest but Jas and me continued till it closed at 6 plus!!

Went back to the hotel to change and rest before going for dinner at a roadside stall. They had a special menu specially for Singaporeans! We were debating whether the prices inside were different too.

After that went for more shopping till the very last stall closed then we realised forgot to do our nails!!! Sad. Went back and chilled out since it was our last day.

Check out the things she bought! And by the way, she's the one who spent the least. I'm the winner with a grand total of S$1k plus with Jas following closely behind with S$900 plus. I'm so broke now! Lucky I listened to them and asked my mum to bring a luggage bag for me instead of the 2 duffel bags I carried to airport.

And thats finally the end of my Thailand post!! On the day that I started this post (110108), I started smoking again. =( I will be more successful in quitting next time!!

i'm leaving for thailand in 12 hours!! so excited!! this is the furthest i'm going with the babes. jas, shiwan n angele are going with me.. too bad the rest can't go too.

actually, i did go to thailand with shiwan before but that was a school trip back in 2000? we were roomies and i was sooo scared of ghosts back then the poor girl had to do everything with me and even held my hand when i slept!! lolz. now, i'm not that scared already la, but i tink i might just have to ask jas to accompany me to the toilet now and then. =X

keke, i'm planning not to sleep and complete [heroes] season one. i'm like, sooo hooked! promise i'll be back with a whole whole load of updates k!!

really been doing nothing much besides working n catching up with ppl. i seriously tink i'm becoming depressed ever since i joined the insurance line. sianz. really dunno if its the rite thing for me. i seem to b different from the ppl thr. maybe i'm too lazy or maybe they're all super ambitious but i juz can't click with some of them. i wish von was with me den we can encourage each other. c how la ah..

bottoms up has been fun of coz but i'm gonna quit in dec. SAD. but for my future's sake i have to do it. too much drinking n smoking will kill me and the late nights r giving me pimples and making me age like nobodys business. btw, i'm at bottoms now. hah. terrible. to justify myself though, later i'm having an appt at raffles place so here nearer ma. =x

i'll prob still come down when i quit but not as often plus i won't b drinking so much and hopefully oso quit smoking by den, so it won't be as jialat.

i really wish i could.

i hate being old and having to have so much responsibility.
i hate all the complex feelings i feel which i would never feel when i was younger.
i hate not being able to act like a kid without being called childish.

i miss primary school where everything was simple.
i miss secondary school when i could just hang out with the girls without a care in the world.
i miss the times when my parents could just pick up the pieces for me.

i wish i didn't have to grow up to realise the world is full of materialistic and superficial people.

and suddenly i'm 22 already. i feel so old!! updates on my birthday as soon as i get the pix. those who were there should know it wasn't a pretty sight. hehe.

in view of the events that happened, i guess the time has finally come for me to grow up? as much as i wanna be young forever, i've come to realise my decisions not only affect me but others around me too. sad. time for me to forget things that should've long been forgotten too..

ANYWAY. i just cried coz lynette has cancer!! [DH] is so sad!! i started on season 4 already.. yup, that's what i've been busy with.. besides work and play and work of coz.

started watching it when i was in the temporary house coz there was nothing else to do there. its been 2 months and i FINALLY finished all 70 episodes~!!!! the show is nice la.. at first when all my other friends watched it i thought it was super boring but its damn nice!! i wanna go korea!!~~

lately been spending alot of time there, like 4-5 days a week? dunno why i like the place so much.. is it the mahjong?? the game machine?? or the friends there?? i guess its a combination of all.. really feel like that place is my 2nd home liaoz.. lolz..

i super love the show, its freaking sweeeeeet! n i can proudly say i've definitely heard this song more than 300 times already. it was on my blog, my ringtone n my msg tone. n that was before bottoms had the mtv. the first day they had it i watched it over 10 times. first time i dian myself n all the other times were other ppl wanna sing wan.. i thought i'd get sian, but i still like it!!! but i tink its juz a matter of time if i continue hearnig it 10 times a day..

addiction 4 : sony vaio PINK laptop!!!!

okok, i know this can't really be considered an addiction but its the most important one!!!! as you all know, my birthday is coming soon.. for those of u who don't know its on 25th sep!!! *ahem* this is the very top item on my wishlist!!! (jace, i know u said u don't wanna consolidate money for gifts anymore but i'm ur bestie rem?? lolz. u noe i got alot of frenz rite? 200 ppl each one $10 can alredi. hah.) but being reasonable, the 2nd item is a pink sony cybershot digicam. if all else fails, i guess cash will do it la. keke, its the thought that counts la!! so i'll accept anything but no boring photo frames pls!! unless u have a gd pic to put inside.. =)

Met up with the girls at Vivo at 2pm. Having played mj the whole night before and not having a single bit of sleep, I was super cranky. Smartly enough, Jace decided to pick that exact day to start a fight with me about quitting smoking. That was the start of a tense atmosphere and throughout the whole stay at Sentosa we didn't talk to each other much..

BUT. There's a reason why we're BFF and no matter what happens we'll always sort things out right? Dunno why whenever we go on a big outing of some sort this kinda thing happens.. Genting also like that.. Conclusion? She's too protective over me!! But I love her for that of coz.. (So enough with the tag-ressment already!!)

Anyway, over to the main focus.. We checked into the Sijori Resort but SADLY, the room was smaller than the previous time we came, the lift wasn't working, their bus was not available AND there was no more KTV room!!! To top it off, our room lights couldn't work. Hah. Thankfully, they got us a room which was a lil bit better.. Plus we managed to bargain for a discounted price!! Lolz.

Walked around.. Waited for everyone to assemble.. And first stop.. The LUGE!!! (It's pronounced looooo-ge, so stop with the large and luke and ludge all ah.)

We took the skyride up and I know it looks like nothing, that's what I thought also, but it's FREAKING scary can!!! It's like sitting cable car without any doors la!! I almost hyperventilated and I started making Jas freak out too. Actually in the first place, she was also already kinda scared la.. Only Jace down there happily rocking the chair all..

Finally reached the top and that's where we took the luge back down..

The luge is kinda like a go-kart.. I'm not really sure whats the difference but since they call it luge then luge la ah. Also quite scary. I think I too scared to die la, that's why I drove really slow and was the last to reach back down. =(

After that went to eat, but on the way saw some cute little water fountains and the 5 year olds in us just took over..



Very fun la!! It comes out in squirts and lands very shiok-ly on your feet! I dunno how to explain to you guys the water pattern.. Must go there and experience for yourself k!!

After dinner at Subway, back to the luge where Jas, Aaron, Jace and me sat ONE MORE TIME.. I almost chickened out but didn't wanna waste money. It seems like the more I take the skyride the more immune I get, coz the second time wasn't as scary. Maybe coz it was night so I couldn't see that far below.

Back to the room after that and thats where the craziness started.. Played our standard Zhong Ji Mi Ma game with a bottle of Absolut Vodka Vanilla (which is totally yummy-licious with vanilla coke!!!) with the ruling that who didn't drink (jace, alifya and her bf) had to do a dare. However, someone smartly suggested drawing on each others face so here you go.. The end results..

I think the guys got it much worse. I fell asleep halfway but that didn't stop Jace from touching up on the 'art'. All drawn using liquid eyeliner by the way. Not contented with embarrassing ourselves among ourselves, some smart fella proposed going to CAFE DEL MAR to be humiliated. Luckily by the time we reached there we realised we didn't bring our ICs but by then I think more than a dozen people already saw us and thought we were too early for Halloween.

But overall, I feel really really happy that even though most of us are 22.. We still do these kinda crappy stuff that we did when we were 16!!! Hahaha. Girls, remember Cammie's birthday at Taka with the flour and foam and water balloons??

i'm back!!! n i'm tired so i shall not bother with my spelling n stuff.. i missed my house so much la!!! correction, i missed my comp so much!!!!! i swear once everything was set up n i saw my beloved wallpaper (which is joe cheng yuan chang's face), i kissed my comp!!!! hah.

anyway, i haven't blogged for like over 20 days n now have sooo much to blog about.. hmmm. actually come to tink of it its only jas/shiwan's bdae. n i can't find the pics. just brilliant.

so. this will have to b a wordy entry. wat have i been busy doing? thats a 'bu neng shuo de. mi mi.' muahahahaha. i love that show la!!! sooooooooo romantic!!!! bth. i hate watching those kinda shows coz it makes me feel lonely!!! n long for my soul mate!! hmph. ok, i noe i'm a contradiction.

ANIWAE. been busy wif work work n work!!! this wk i'm at biotherm mon tue thurs, bottoms up fri sat and gg to the office on wed!! falling super sick la. been drinking too much, sleeping too late, blah blah blah.. the usual unhealthy stuff. now i have a bad flu, my nose won't stop running, and the inside of my throat has several red lumps growing. i know coz i checked. SOBZ.

insurance hasn't been as easy as i tot it'd be but i won't gif up!! coz i'm selling a need not a want!!! hahaha. at least that's what they taught us. i tink it's coz i haven't been disciplined and focused enough. must learn from von la. that girl hardworking sia.

biotherm has been SUCKY. bugis is super boring. n i sick they oso dun let me tk off la. angry. if the girl in charge of that counter wasn't my fren, i wouldn't even bother gg back alredi!

bottoms up has been fun, wat wif all the mj playing after work.. but oso the cause of my sickness!! everyone's telling me to quit but i feel like i'm getting sucked deeper n deeper in!! dunno y oso. lolz.

btw, here's a 'secret' for u. last time whenever i got drunk i'll ALWAYS cry and cry esp at RUSH. but now when i'm high i'll b ultra happy n jumpy n hyper sia. weird. i got nothing to b sad about anymore? hah.

no updates for 10 days!!

sobz. my house is upgrading now, so i'll be staying at my parent's friends house during the upgrading period and there's no computer there!!! dunno how i am gonna survive TEN days without internet access.. so ya, this is juz my last entry for u ppl till i get my house back. aniwae u shud b used to me disappearing for long periods of time right? lolz.

on the bright side, the 'new house' is really super nice!!! its a condo with all the normal facilities like swimming pool and gym but the thing i'm really most fascinated with is that.. IT HAS A PRIVATE LIFT!!!!! how cool is that?? the lift only stops at our floor n no other!! so that means no more long waits for the lift.. i wish i could juz move in there permanently.. haha. aniwae its still at bedok so no problem for me.

ok!! i'm at a cybercafe now, gtg alredi.. will be back wif updates on jas bdae, shiwan's bdae.. and the celebrations at sentosa!!!
