my very first dinner and dance!!

Firstly, I think I can't keep up with the one tag one post thing coz I'm too lazy so two tags one post k! Be nice and tag more la. =D

Anyway, I realised that the HSBC Insurance D&D which I went for last week was really the first one I went to. Prudential one not really counted coz I had to pay for it myself, Nuance-Watson one was held at Shangri-la The Line in the afternoon so also not counted (though it was freaking awesome!) and I don't remember SaSa ever having a D&D. Probably coz I was a part-timer?

So, I was soooo excited about the first ever REAL D&D that I was going to! Somemore they had a theme! Masquerade! And they even provided masks for us!! How cool is that? This is what I totally love about working in a big company.

As usual, I planned to do alot of things to prepare for it but in the end I overslept and rushed through my preparations. Hehe. But it all turned out quite well la. Shall let the pictures do the talking.

Haha.. Was so surprised to see her there! SHE was the photog that day. And I heard she only got paid $50, not from my company but from the studio who hired her. But she looked cool la! Haha. And the door gifts were Robinsons vouchers!!!! There were $50, $80 and $100 in the form of lucky draw but we were late so only the $50 ones were left. Sad.

The surprising thing was, not many people wore the masks! I only wore it to take the picture and get into the feel. Haha.

The place was smaller than I expected, probably around 15 tables? I though it'd be like 25 or 30. Haha.

I forgot to take photos of the prawns and only remembered to take the fish's bones. After that was broccoli with crabmeat gravy that I also forgot to take. Hee. Was too engrossed watching the stage activities which I also forgot to take. There was a lucky draw (only for permanent staff I'm contract!), games and also the best dressed award.

And then they started playing the music and I pulled everyone to go dance! Fun fun~ Music was retro.. Very not me. But still fun! Steph was so high on wine and started kissing all the girls one by one! Lol.

Angie was damn high as well. Haha. I drank red and white wine and beer so was DAMN red, but wasn't high. But by the time I reached by bro's chalet my head was hurting like a bitch and all I wanted to do was sleep. But then Eric they all came and I had to wake up and play poker. One of the few times I won. =D

happy sleepy crazy busy

i have to blog two posts again! i think i should change the tag thing to 2 tags=1 post.. lolz. say until as if i got alot of tags like that.. keke we shall see how in the coming weeks.

i'm so sleepy la but i refuse to sleep coz i'm on LEAVE tml!!! i mean today.. hehe. so happy~ took leave coz i had to rush to do my project.. finally kinda finished it. one burden off my hands! and meeting the girls to chill and gossip tml. miss them so much la! been so busy that i haven't seen them for quite sometime.. but then again, they also always busy with their bfs la ah. =x

just a quick update on my life.. BUSY. yup that about sums it up. haha. with work, school, clubbing, night safari (will blog abt that soon), meeting lotsa friends, gaming, drinking.. haha. the list is neverending la. i'm so super contented with my life now.

all i need is a bf. haha. no la, just feel like i'm so old already coz my friends are always talking about marriage i feel like i'm gonna be a spinster! lolz. plus i feel left out when they go out in couples. =( anyway, i guess it will comes when it comes la. dun have much time to worry abt it also. hehe.

Honestly, my timing sucks so bad that I should be ashamed to even put the results up but who cares? I definately don't!

I just think its cool that a piece of orange paper recorded my run timing!

What? At least I wasn't last! (Though I can't be sure how many people exactly there were, I know there were DEFINATELY people behind me!) =D

one of the most tiring days of my life

I shall keep my promise and blog for every comment I get.. But I'm so freaking tired! And I still have to blog TWO posts?! Owe you all one la ah! Hee.

Anyway, I MADE IT for the Nike Run!! So freaking proud of myself man! Slept for one hour and went.

The sea of red that greeted me when I reached there. So amazing la. Apparently 10000 people went according to Nike website, but I dunno if they meant the whole world or only Singapore coz although its a lot of red, it doesn't look like 10000 to me! (Ok, I just checked.. It was really 10000 JUST in Singapore! Cool!!)

Massage tents? I'm not very sure if people had to pay for this; I thought it was free but if it were then there'd be a fucking long queue and there wasn't, even after the run. Maybe its just some muscle relief thing only for injured people. (Checked. It WAS free massages! Damn.)

Free fruits and drinks! I was telling Jace she should just do her fav past time there. Just stand there and get free flow! LOL. Only 100 plus and water though.. But NEVER in my life have I loved 100 plus so much!!!

That small little orange paper thingy actually tells me my running time!! Cool or what?! I was just so amazed by everything..

Looking happy and excited but actually feeling crappy coz I slept so little and full coz I drank two glasses of milk thinking it would give me energy, only to realise it just makes me full. -.-

And the race starts! After 600m, I told Jace I wanna turn back and go home. LOL! Started to feel cramps and all.. After 2km, started to walk. And from there onwards, it was mostly walking.. Till we see our motivation!!!

DRINKS! Then we started running like dogs who haven't drank for ages! Other than that we just talked and laughed and did silly things like..

..Try to knock down all cups with one cup! LOL. Silly but fun.

My fav number!! I felt quite idiotic standing there taking pictures while everyone else was running in my direction, hence the non pose. But after that we saw two other girls taking photos as well so didn't feel like we were the only ones who could camwhore anywhere and everywhere!

Yay 9km! I loved reading the words on the board. All so inspiring and cute! Unlike the scary volunteers who kept screaming at us to 'jia you' and 'hurry up'.. They were intimidating! I purposely started walking whenever I was going to reach them so that I'd have the energy to run when they scream at me. =x If I was really shagged I might've punched them, or say what another girl said to them sarcastically," You come and join us run la!" But then again, most of them were nice and friendly.

Finally!! By that time my legs felt like jelly and I REALLY thought I was gonna sprain my ankle. Haha. When we reached the finish line they gave us a can of 100 plus (I think I drank at least one litre of 100 plus that day!) and a Nike Finisher wrist band, nothing fancy la. There was a concert but it was almost over by the time we finished. Lol. I just found my results online but will blog about that tomorrow..

RUN!

Ok, I decided to blog 2 posts at one go.. AND Jace is gonna kill me coz I officially have to wake up in like an hour's time for the Nike Run! YES I'm going for the NIKE TEN KM run. (Or maybe not, if I wake up and it's over.)

Jace tricked me into going! She said everyone's going and apparently everyone is Gary, her sis and her. Sigh. But anyway, it'll be an experience! Plus I paid for it already, so ya, anyone who sees this in one hour please call me! If nobody calls me it won't be my fault if I miss it. =x

I'm so tired la! Now its the same old question. Should I sleep or stay up? I might faint during the run if I stay up though.. And I'm super shagged! So, I guess..

He brought me there, I brought her along, she told the whole world about it! So ya la, Eric is the one who got everyone hooked onto the yummilicious scallop congee at 126! Cheap and good and not sinful!

yes i know i haven't been blogging alot lately and i'm sorry.. this few months have been hectic like crazy for me!! what with the school and work and partying!! but also, i realised that i don't really have much motivation to blog though i always always think of stuff i wanna blog about..

coz it seems like nobody reads my blog anymore judging by my sad lonely tagboard. yet when i check my blog stats it states otherwise! so people, if you actually come and read my blog pls tag!!!

life is gooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!

I'm totally loving my life now! Haha coz I found a great club!!! Wanted to blog a long post about that but its my bedtime so will save it for another time.. Today my post is just gonna be about the GREAT dinner I had at Long Beach with my colleagues. It's abit overdue so will keep it short and simple.

The reason for the dinner was coz the team actually hit last month's target so my boss treated! And I was actually very lucky to be included since I wasn't there last month.. Have to thank my manager for all the photos coz now I'm using a sucky phone which has a spoilt camera and she actually helped me to take the pictures.

First up we had this garlic squid appetiser which was so good coz I was hungry and it was GARLIC! Didn't take a picture of that coz it didn't occur to me to blog about the dinner till I saw..

...the lobster appetiser!!!

Oh it was in small servings but you know how they say good things come in small packages? SO TRUE. I'm crazy about lobsters so I was drooling the minute I saw it. Somemore had to like keep my cool coz all new colleagues but inside I was jumping for joy la.. I never ate anything like that before, not even at weddings.

... which i initially thought was shark's fin but it turned out to be curry(?) prawns which I'm sure chilli lovers would, well, love but I don't eat chilli so just ate the prawns.

Then there was fish..


And after that we had chilli crab with mantou and noodles and duck which were good but nothing spectacular so didn't take photos.


By the time dessert came, all of us were so full but the dessert looked so special I couldn't resist it!




It was some sort of coffee pudding with dry ice underneath. Very light so we didn't feel jelak after eating it.



And that about sums up what was one of the best meals in my 24 years. Hahaha. Mainly coz of the lobster dish. *sigh*



I'm gonna sleep now. Hope I dream of it! =D

yes yes i'm finally back! i'm sorry been lazy and REALLY busy this time around. ok, just short updates coz i'm normal now and got work early tml!!

i quit prudential.

coz i don't think i have enough discipline to be a successful financial planner. i need a stable job that isn't too flexible. and of coz i looked for an office hour job to suit my school timing and, in jace's words, 'my other friends timings'. oh ya speaking of school..

i started sch at psb academy!

luckily my friend also happened to be in the same class as me so i don't have to worry about having no friends. haha. not that i was worried la. =x anyway, first lesson was boring and freaking easy! it was like ratio and fractions la! primary sch maths can! wasting my time. lolz. k la its prob just a refresher lesson. wait the next few lessons all damn hard then i'll just be kicking myself..

i got a normal day job!!!

this is like the BIGGEST change in my life la. first time ever having a full time office job.. nowadays i wake up at 7am on weekdays and sleep before 1.30am the night before!!! i don't club on wed anymore and i probably only can drink once a week! hahaha. crazy right?! my life is so sad and boring now!! hahaha. thats what i've been telling people. but thinking about it, my life is just boring la. definitely not sad. unless you count the fact that i'm probably gonna make the same mistake again.

oh ya! i watched [final destination 4] 3d just now and was reminded why i don't like watching 3d shows. coz the specs are annoying and you can't really see the colours on the screen clearly! anyway, things i learned from the show; don't go car wash, don't go swimming, don't use escalators, don't cross roads.. basically don't do anything la! wow. that so fits into my boring life now..

its 1am and its my bedtime. =(

pet society is getting addictive!!!

First, they introduced planting to the game and i got addicted to it again.. Now, they actually have fishing!!! And i'm hooked!!! Hahaha..

For those people who were confused at first like me, it's actually really easy.

1. Go to the pond in the centre of the village.
2. Choose your bait. It's really funny 'coz the fishes in Pet Society eat ANYTHING from ice cream sundaes to milk to bones(I caught a puppyfish with my bone!).
3. Click your pet once to cast the rod.
4. Once the fish bites, click and hold your pet to reel in the fish.
5. If the fish struggles(there will be ripples in the water), let go and click again after it stops struggling if not it will escape with your bait!

Ok, my friends must now be thinking why I am blogging about this in the morning instead of sleeping. I just went to Pet Society to check out my plants for awhile then realised they have this fishing thingy.. And it took me like quite awhile and alot of baits to finally get the hang of it so I thought I should just teach the other people who wanna play la!

Plus.. I'm trying to occupy myself as much as possible so that I won't have to think of things I don't wanna think about?

And.. I wanted to do a small blog post ma!

DAMMIT!!! I should have waited just one day before buying my Samsung Omnia.. Coz I went to the Nuffnang website the next day and saw that they have this blogging competition about HTC Magic, the new hp from HTC. Curious, I went to check it out and it looks soooo good!! I guess now I just have to try winning it instead..

The very first hp I ever had was the very common Nokia 3210. It looked like this..

BORING and bulky! To be fair to it, it was one of the first generation phones so obviously it looked ugly. Plus I changed my casing to pink!!! So it did look a little nicer than the above picture.

This is HTC Magic.

Sleek and sexy!!! *drools* I want!!! Available in white and black.

3210 had speed dial. Which was of totally no use to me. I never ever used that function in ANY phone before. If you call someone so often that they have to be on speed dial, you'd remember the number of that person right?? Maybe I just have good memory. Heh.

Magic on the other hand, has Smart Dialer. Smart Dialer lets you call people in whatever way you think, by either dialing their phone number or by dialing the first few letters of their name. Perfect. No more scrolling through your phone book anymore!

The only entertainment I got from my dear old 3210 was the game Snake. I loved Snake but once the snake reached its maximum length and the high score was reached, I had ZERO entertainment.

With Magic you can surf the web with 3.5G network connection and Wi-Fi technology(they have the multiple windows function!), take photos with its 3.2megapixel camera, listen to mp3s and watch videos!

And the best thing of all is.. It's powered by Android!! Ok, I know most of you have never heard about it before but soon everyone's gonna be talking about it so let me tell u abit more so that you won't be the only suaku one..

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google(only the most used search engine ever!) so naturally, it provides common Google services such as mail and search. Other than that, the home screen is fully customizable and lets you put music, widgets and applications. Speaking of which, they have this thing called Android Market where you can discover and install applications and games from their ever-growing selection.

One application I really really like is the Google Latitude, which allows you to keep track of the physical locations of your contacts!!! How cool is that! I can stalk people all day!!!! And for those who are attached, now you don't ever have to hear another lie from your partner about where they are!! Just awesome.

I tried to finish the Bintan post but my updates kept disappearing!! So i got fed up and decided to use my bro's laptop instead of my old laggy comp to blog but then I realised I could upload photos with my time instead so the Bintan post is yet again pushed back.. Hehe.

Nonetheless, I realised I haven't been updating much so here's a short update..

A few months ago, my friends were talking about this 'anymore' place at Geylang and me being me, thought it was a nightclub. Turned out it's actually their term for the illegal gambling tables there which I've actually heard of before la but never went to check it out before coz I sometimes lose my head when gambling..

Anyway, I WENT TODAY! Haha. I thought it would be like tended by ah bengs and abit like the underground gambling dens in movies kind but its actually just a table with a 'da/siao' plastic mat thingy on it. Ok, I'm so bad at describing la. I actually wanted to take a picture to blog about it but my friend said wait the guy whack me all.. LOL. Somemore they are not ah bengs can! They are like Indians/Thais/mostly foreigners la..

So I played(minimum bet $10).. And won $100!!! But I spent $35 on fags and supper then human nature took over and I wanted to win more so went back there and lost the remaining $60! LOL. Wanted to continue but luckily my friend talked me into going home..

Actually the first time I played and was on a winning streak I suddenly thought, "What if those guys suspect I got supernatural powers? Like the guy in [Push] or Hiro Nakamura?" Lol. Then when I was walking away after winning I was so scared they whack me la!

I asked my friend how they earn money like that and he said people would always keep going back. Which is true la. You win, you wanna win more. You lose, you wanna win it all back. *Sigh* Humans.

Definately must have self control the next time I go back. =x

you know how i hate people who are overly emo and self-pitiful, esp whenthe things they are emo over is their own fault? i think i'm becoming like that! the emo part la, not the self-pity part. i dun feel sorry for myself at all, juz alot of frustration and disappointment.

i dun wanna blog much about the issue coz i dun really like blogging about personal stuff but i'm just so annoyed at myself!!!! arghhhh. i need to meet my girls for a bitching/whining session soon!!

okok, i must keep in mind what eric told me; i'm lucky. if not i will forget to be grateful for all the things i have. anyway, in other news.. I'M FINALLY GOING TO STUDY!! there. i said it. so now i can't back out can i? still deciding on which school but most prob kaplan i guess. i feel like i'm making alot of impulsive decisions these few days but i guess this is a good one right?
