Not sure if its the weather. Or the waking up late. Or missing church. Or the you I don't wanna think of. Or the uncertainty of what to do with my life. Or knowing that I have no discipline yet not changing. Or the loneliness that creeps in on days like these. Or the fact that I should grow up but I don't want to. Or thinking of the upcoming busy week ahead at work.
Or all of the above.
But I just feel super emo today and I hate feeling this way. Time to exercise and get some endorphins to make myself happy again! Tomorrow will be a better day! And I will work towards being a better person.

new year, old habits.
HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!
So, instead of my yearly post about resolutions and what I'm gonna achieve this year, I decided to post about stuff that I ALREADY did!
I realize I've been reading and blogging less over the past year and I totally blame that on all the addictive k-dramas! I decided to stop procrastinating and start doing something TODAY, so I..
1) Cleared my room. Okay, maybe just one small section. And I might've just shifted my stuff elsewhere. But at least i have a small area which looks neat now!
2) Read.. A magazine. Still counts, I don't care. I've learnt a lot of life lessons by reading CLEO okay? Don't judge me! :x
3) Blogged! Will try to revamp my entire blog soon and update more often so that I won't forget my passion.
Okay.. To be honest there's really a lot I wish I managed to do last year. Like quit smoking and start studying and saving. But I'm happy that I managed to sustain the exercise routine and cut down on clubbing/drinking though.
They say it takes 21 days for something to become a habit, but they forgot to mention how much discipline is required just to pass that 21 long days.
Gonna end this post with my brother's tweet. So proud of him for being positive and grateful! Yes, 2012 was a good year and may 2013 be even better!

a whole new world.. not that far away.
Ok, I have approximately half an hour to type an entry on Genting, which should be easy coz its like my FAVOURITE part of Malaysia!
I was looking through tweets when I realised Nuffnang is actually giving away an ALL-EXPENSES paid trip to Genting and WE get to choose the itinerary.. NICE.
There are many attractions that I actually have seen/love seeing/would love to see again in Genting, but the top 3 would have to be..
1. Theme Park!
Out of the 5 times I went to Genting, I went to the theme park 4 times! And no, I didn't get sick of it.. The one time I didn't go was only because the rest of my friends just wanted to gamble! Ok fine, I wanted to gamble too. :x But the theme park is really quite awesome and well worth the money! Its only RM$66 and includes the Outdoor Theme Park, First World Indoor Theme Park, Rainforest Splash Pool and Flying Coaster (which was not included the past few times I went)!!! The Flying Coaster is one of the best rides, giving you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to feel like Superman!
2. Cineplex
I know this might sound boring.. Who goes all the way to Genting to watch a movie right? Well, I'm a movie freak and they have UPDATED shows! Better still, the movie tickets are cheaper and they have premium seats!! I'm talking massage chair premium ya.. It's perfect for people who love watching movies in comfort!
3. KTV
YES, they do have a KTV there but the place is so big you'd have to search thoroughly for it.. One of my memories during the past trips to Genting is having lunch at the KTV and singing for about 4-5 hours and the cost was of coz wayyy cheaper than Singapore.
And now it's my favourite part.. Choosing the meals! I'm such a glutton aren't I?
First day when we reach it'd be around lunch time.. I'd head to the Bakery at Maxims Genting for a light snack coz I'll be so excited that I'll wanna wander around before settling in! Then I'll be so hungry at night that I'll head to New Orleans BBQ dinner! Food sounds yummy~
Second day I'll wanna go to Genting Palace Restaurant for a dim sum breakfast as they serve dim sum on Sunday!! Gonna eat ALOT so I'll eat less for lunch. Hehe. And by less I mean the signature Hainanese Chicken Rice from Restoran Hainan Kitchen. Ate it before.. It's so good!! Dinner woould have to be somewhere with an awesome ambience.. I think I'll have a pasta and wine at Bubbles & Bites! The place looks cozy and great to relax at!
On the last day, I'll want something to fill me up for the journey back home so I'll go for the breakfast buffet at Coffee Terrace!
Sorry that this is so rushed and I didn't have time to include any photos, however I assure you I'll add photos of my NEXT Genting trip.. Which hopefully would be really soon! *fingers crossed*
In the meantime..
Book your holiday with Genting’s iHoliday booking engine for a convenient one-stop solution! =)

how a conscience is lost
At first, it starts with curiosity. You know it's wrong but you just decide to do it one day just to see how it feels like.
You feel guilty after and it eats at you. But after a long while, you forget the guilt and only remember the fun. So you decide to do it again.
This time you feel less guilty and think of reasons to justify your wrongdoings. The fear of being found out is less; after all, you've done it once before without getting caught.
The time lapses between each incident get shorter and shorter.. Till you don't fear being caught and there's no guilt whatsoever.
That's how you lose your conscience.
And honestly, I think it might feel better than all the things I'm feeling now.

a not-so-blue Monday
Well, actually it started out kinda blue when I almost puked on the bus. I think I'm a little claustrophobic coz whenever I'm standing in a crowded place for a prolonged time without being able to move I feel nauseous. I clutched my stomach and almost decided to squat unglamly when this woman sitting in front of me suddenly got up. Assuming she could see the pain I was in, I thanked God and started moving towards the seat.. When I realized she actually meant for the pregnant lady behind me to have it. But I was too much in pain to be really embarrassed about it anyway.
The day started getting better the minute I got off the bus and even better once I finished work. Went to meet the guys for dinner at Sakae and Ono ordered this.

That's uni sashimi (sea urchin) and it cost frickkin' $35 bucks! Madness. I took a pea sized bit just to try and that small bit alone probably cost $4 already!! It was nice but definitely not worth $35. My entire meal probably cost that much!

The photo doesn't do justice to the amount of food we ate coz I had to keep asking the waitress to clear our plates!
After that we went for LAN, been sometime since I last played L4D and we played a good and satisfying add-on map! Can't remember the map name though.
And now, I'm home doing what I love while using my mask.

Not bad at all for a Monday. <3
P.S. I know blog posts which describes what I did for the entire day are not really interesting but I wanted to post my first ever mask photo!! Yes, I'm silly like that.

Of life and loving it
Hello! I know it's been ages since I've blogged and I blame that on my dad, whom I've inherited the lazy genes from (if you see this, I'm just kidding daddy!). Now I'm stuck on the bus with an hour to spare and my opponents on Words with Friends are not responding as fast as I'd like them to, so I decided to work towards my resolution to blog more.
The other day I was just wondering.. I always said writing was my passion, but how passionate am I about it REALLY when I have to push myself to do it? Of course once I get started its fun and I enjoy it, but most of the time I choose to do other things like watch my dramas. Maybe my passion is watching Korean dramas. Or MAYBE I'm just too lazy and ill-disciplined to get off my butt and start working towards my dream.
Which brings me to the point of today's entry.. Am I loving my life TOO MUCH? I always feel so happy and contented with my life, and I know its good to feel that way but sometimes I get so comfortable that I forget I'm not the only one who matters. I want to make my family happy too. And I guess the only way is to break out of my comfort zone and start doing more. I briefly read through my other post on the resolutions I made this year and realize that while I've almost done all the "fun" ones, I have barely even tried to do the more productive ones. Also, I tend to get so comfortable that I just leave my dream of writing in a corner together with the weight-loss and driving license plans.
I really need to work on saving so that I can study!! I will still continue loving my life, just have to remind myself from time to time to do better for the people around me.

a moment like this
There are some things you wait a lifetime for, expecting it to be huge when it actually happens.
Some people that you've always thought were unattainable, coz you've put them high on a pedestal somewhere in your heart and head.
Some feelings which you've waited so long to feel, thinking it will never happen.
And maybe it never will.
Coz when the moment I waited so long for finally came (kinda), it was at best just.. Okay.
I don't know if it's because my expectations changed or if it wasn't even what I expected it to be, but maybe it would've been better to just hold that magic inside and not made things happen.
Now there's really nothing much left to dream about.

the art of making resolutions you can keep
HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!
Yes, can't believe its 2012 ALREADY! And I'm 27 this year.. :( Time just passes too fast.
Anyway, I was actually planning not to make any resolutions this year coz I somehow always end up not keeping them.. Till I saw one of my friend's resolutions on facebook.
Her list was something like this..
1. Get a driving license
2. Get a diving license
3. Go to Taiwan
Hmm.. All along I thought the point of making resolutions was to improve yourself and not just do stuff you wanna do.. I guess everyone has a different view on that? So, this year I'm gonna make fun resolutions which I know I can keep!
1. Go to Korea!
2. Continue to party hard!
3. Go on a short trip twice a year! (Not JB; JB will be like, every month)
4. Blog more!
And the not-so-fun ones..
1. Get my driving license.
2. Get a Mass Comm degree.
3. Lose weight!
Yup, that about sums it up. I had a whole different idea about how I was gonna blog this but my brain is in holiday mode! Yes, I know I have alot of excuses but bear with me for now k! ;)

hello, kitty!

Went for the 3D sneak preview of [puss in boots] at Suntec Eng Wah today. Expected more from the movie but it still had its cute and funny moments nonetheless! Worth it to watch on a weekday! :)

short update!
Hello hello! I think I should blog at least once a month so that whatever writing skills I have left won't disappear! On that same note, I recently realized that I REALLY like editing other peoples writing. All along I thought I liked writing, but I guess I prefer correcting other people's mistakes more. I still love writing though. Plus, you'd have to be a good writer before you can be an editor right? Heh.
Just a short update; I've been working at Underwater World as a marketing coordinator for more than 3 months already! So far it's been not bad.. Like the colleagues alot and time passes VERY fast. But it's just not what I really wanna do. So I've decided to take a degree in mass comm to work towards my dream of being a journalist! Just not sure on the school yet..
Oh ya and also my birthday came and went and now I'm officially 26 years old!! :( time passes too fast man. But really, I'm thankful to God for giving me an almost perfect life and for letting me live these 26 years! I say almost perfect coz there's definitely room for improvement in the money department, but I'm still very thankful nonetheless! <3
Ok, shall try to blog again soon!

near-death experience
I almost would not have been blogging this if things had been any different.
JUST GOT CHASED BY 3 MAD/STRAY DOGS WHILE CYCLING WITH MY BRO AT ECP!!
Thank God my bro was there.
Thank God we pumped the bicycle tires before cycling down to ecp.
Thank God we were not jogging.
Thank God the dogs eventually stopped chasing us.
There's really so many things to thank God for la!!
We were cycling around the dark secluded bend at ECP when the dogs suddenly came out of the bushes, barking wildly.
My first instinct was to scream and cycle faster and my bro was shouting at me to keep peddling faster. I swear that was the FASTEST I ever cycled in my whole life!!
The 3 dogs were abit taller than my knee and they looked like the crazy-and-will-bite-you-asap kind la!! They chased us for about 5mins!! (my bro says it was shorter and that I only think it was 5 mins coz it was a scary situation)
Thoughts going through my head were, "shit I don't wanna die today!", "if only I had a gun", "maybe if I pet them like my friends' dogs they won't bite", "if I don't die of getting bitten I'd probably die of exhaustion cycling" and "GOD PLS HELP US!!!"
That had to be the scariest 5 mins of my life!!
They stopped chasing us when we were reaching the lagoon hawker centre and I immediately told my bro I wanted to take a cab home. Unfortunately the bikes could not fit into the cab so we cycled back. My legs almost gave way when I got off the bike!
Still traumatized now man. My bro still can laugh and say that it was an experience!!
More like a near-death experience la! I so do not wanna be dog food!!
Guess I'm never gonna cycle to ecp at night again.

how to survive a day without twitter/fb
Now I know why I love twitter so much. There are just some things that are too short for an entire blog post but perfect for a one-liner tweet. Like, " I went to church today only to realize that the service was in Chinese!" Yes, true story.
Anyway, I woke up this afternoon and instinctively wanted to check twitter but remembered the promise. So, here's a list of things I've been doing to stop myself from tweeting. (Ya I realized twitter is more important to me than fb)
- Playing words with friends (I'm at maximum capacity already! Playing with as many people as possible)
- Reading CLEO
- Checking out travel packages online
- Blogging (There's not much point of this post other than to stop me from tweeting. Haha.)
- Playing around with my photo apps. Check out the photos!

disconnect to connect for a GOOD FRIDAY
The title of my post comes partly from this YouTube video which Eric showed me some time back.
I can't link it coz I'm using my hp to blog but basically it's an ad which brings across the message that people can be physically together yet worlds apart thanks to the very thing which I'm using to blog now.
Technology has gotten so advanced that people all over the world can communicate with each other, yet 2 people can sit next to each other and play with their handphones, not talking at all. Facebook and twitter accounts are updated regularly, but updates in real life are seldom exchanged between friends. I'm sure most of you reading this are guilty of the above! I have 2 friends (namely Cammie and Angele haha) who reply to tweets but not to sms-es!!
That said, I am also guilty of sometimes ignoring group conversations when I meet up with my friends, choosing to play my game (words with friends! Add me! pinkmist02) or update twitter/fb statuses instead. Those who know me know that social media is an integral part of my life and I check twitter feeds at least once every waking hour.
So, in the spirit of good Friday, I have decided to abstain from fb and twitter! For those of you who don't know, good Friday is one of most important days for Catholics coz it's the day Jesus died for our salvation! So we, in turn, make small sacrifices to show our acknowledgement and gratitude.
Yes, I know it might not seem like alot to abstain from fb/twitter (especially when you compare it to someone dying for you) but to me it is coz I'm practically an addict! I hope I make it through the day!! :x

the aging process
I distinctly remember that there was something I so badly wanted to blog about yesterday, but I can't remember what it is for the life of me! My memory is really getting as old as me!! And it's these small things that make me fear growing older.
They say age is just a number, but is it really? I used to think it's ok being mid-twenties, as long as I'm young at heart (haha) but my body is physically telling me I'm old! My memory is getting worse, my back aches after a night of mahjong, I can't go without sleep for a day without feeling tired and my knees hurt when I over exert them!
Totally sounding like an old woman already right? And as if those signs of aging are not bad enough, the people around me make it hard for me to live in my 18 year old world anymore. Of course, it's good that they do coz someone like me definitely needs a reality check! But with all my close friends getting married one by one and one of them even pregnant (congrats Alifya! cant wait to see your kid!!), I suddenly feel scared that I'm.. A grown-up.
When I was younger, I always thought all grown-ups were smart and sensible by default. Like, they hit 21 and are immediately instilled with a sense of responsibility and direction. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen that way. At least not for me. I feel like I'm still stuck with an 18 year-old's mindset and not much has changed.
But I guess eventually, it's actually the experiences we go through which make us wiser (if we choose to learn from them!) and the responsibility part just has to come with being wiser. And I'm lucky that I'm blessed with a great family and friends who are always so supportive while at the same time, advising me on the stuff I should do.
So although I dread this aging thing, life is still good. Can't say the same about my back though..

What's the line between ethical and unethical?
Ok, I was just gonna sleep when this caught my eye in the Facebook live feeds. For those of you who are too lazy too read, basically Mr Brown was more or less ridiculing the Marketing team at Channel News Asia for sending out a mass email asking the recipients to book advertising slots during their coverage on the Japan tsunami. Tons of people have commented on the post, mostly slamming the sender as well, saying he is unethical, insensitive, no compassion, etc.
So, I kinda always prided myself as being quite ethical, but why is it that I feel that CNA is not doing any wrong? Is it really so unethical of them to just do their job?? Advertisements are where they get a main portion of their profits from what! If they're not allowed to earn from bad news, and I bet more than half the news reports are bad, then they might as well just close down! Or just report the good news? I mean, it's not like they're harming anyone or they caused the damn earthquake lor. Like one person commented, their coverage might have made some people aware of the situation or provided information on how to help/donate money. Yes, the email could've been a little more sympathetic instead of gleeful sounding, but come on la, who gives you the right to judge anyway?
I can't stand self-righteous people sometimes. You really feel sad then go there and help or donate a significant amount of money la. I dunno, maybe I just don't see what's so wrong about it.
Anyway, God bless Japan and be thankful we live in a safe country!

me : 10 yrs ago
Omg!! I just read my diary from 10 years back! I thought I hadn't changed much but I was so wrong! I used to be naive, goody-two-shoes and self-righteous to the point that I was kinda a bitch!
To those of you who are thinking, " She's still like that now what!" , HA. HA. Yes, I might still be naive in the sense that I trust people too easily and believe in fairytale romances, but trust me, the me now is NOTHING compared to 10 years ago. It's sad that over the past 10 years the world has corrupted me and I've learnt that things are not always to be seen through rose-tinted glasses, but in a way, I guess it's a good thing too.
Goody-two-shoes? Doubt anyone will call me that now. Self-righteous? I know I have no right to be. So yup, definitely a big change.. But ya la I agree I'm still naive la k!
Time passes so fast it's scary.. How did 10 years just pass like that? And I haven't improved myself in anyway except probably education.
Sigh. I guess it's time to do some reflection on my life. Again.

happy chinese new year!
Time passes so fast doesn't it? After celebrating 26 chinese new years, I realized something funny.
While the normal english new year is full of resolutions and auld lang syne's, chinese new year is all about the gambling, the drinking, and the gluttony!!
I've been eating non-stop since cny eve and trust me, it's not funny how big my tummy had become!!
My colleague even dieted before cny coz he knew cny is a time when the weight will come piling on!
Sigh. I guess it's true that singaporeans live to eat. Time to start an exercise regime again!!!

a little me-time
It was raining heavily after work today so dinner plans were canceled. The weather was so nice that I decided to go home and do some self pampering.
I always loved the concept that I could 'self-spa' at home, with just afew essential items.
shower gel with the loofah followed by a scrub for a nice long warm bath
whitening body lotion bought from beauty buffet in Thailand; smells like vanilla!
And then after that I cooked sardine pasta!! For the second time this month! I'm so awed by the fact that pasta is so easy to cook and I'm so proud of myself that I did not burn my kitchen down! Lol.
doesn't look too bad right?
Ate it while watching the latest episode of [Gossip Girl] and wanted to check out YouTube for some videos on how to do nail art but my brother spoiled my plans by taking over the computer!
So I used my eye mask and fell asleep while using it! And woke up at 5.30am. And here I am. This always happens when I use my sheet masks! Next time really have to leave the masks for the last! Tsk.
Ok gonna try get a little more sleep..
P.s. Sorry if the photos look weird.. Dunno whether the blogging app is good for photos anot..
